Who knows Amazon’s algorithm better than Amazon, right? It seems like selling your product through the new ‘Sold By Amazon’ program is a no-brainer. With the ability to control the buy box, it’s attractive for wholesalers. But as Hilary Milnes points out, “Amazon is angling for profitability. It shifted the burden of less profitable wholesale vendors over to the third-party marketplace earlier this year, prioritizing high-margin exclusive and private-label products in its own retail business… now a $160 billion operation — by controlling price on as many items as it can.”

As a rapidly growing social media platform, TikTok is looking to ramp up their advertising capabilities early on, and they still have some catching up to do. They ranked dead last out of 13 social platforms in a survey of advertisers’ satisfaction with audience targeting capabilities, so now they’re introducing more robust interest targeting to try to increase relevance.
